    if i record to a memory stick or a external hard drive, & then plug it into say my laptop will i be able to view the recording on it or is it only viewable back through the lyngbox

    You need something like this http://www.squared5.com/ mac version is excellent,but i don't know about windows version how to works.

    MPEG_Streamclip_1.2 which can be found at http://www.squared5.com/ (need quicktime installed to work) is more or less useless in a PC with Windows XP. It can´t handle all types of "trp-files". A better program for PC is "KMPlayer" which can handle a lot more types of "trp-files" even if it isn´t specified for it. http://www.kmplayer.com/forums/
